Y5 - Prepositions,postcards and numbers

Today we practised our travel sentences. We played "Pass the Parcel", and whenever the DJ stopped the music, we had to make sentences with two cards: a day one and a flag one.

El jueves voy a Ecuador.
El sábado voy a Argentina.
El domingo voy a Paraguay.
El viernes voy a México.

We sang our song "Este puente..."

We read a postcard in Spanish, next week we will write one!

We went nuts about numbers: we had to write numbers with hazelnuts and challenge our partners to say them in Spanish. Excellent work!

We talked about Columbus Day, and watched a video about the history of the Spanish language.

Next week we will write postcards, hope you will enjoy looking through the leaflets, postcards and travel magazines I by the Spanish display!

Y5- Travel sentences/ European Day of Languages

Today we learnt to add the day of the week to our travel sentences, and now we know that we need the preposition EL.

El martes voy a Wigan.
El jueves voy a Ormskirk.

We sang our song: Este puente va a caer. (The bridge falls down, how will we cross the river? On a paperboat!:-)

We celebrated the European Day of Languages, click on the link to see the activities and videos!  http://bvspanish.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/european-day-of-languages.html

Y5: Voy a.....

Today we have learned to answer ¿A dónde vas? = Where are you going to? We looked at the map of Spain and answered with our favourite places:
Voy a Barcelona.
Voy a Madrid.
Voy a Alicante.
Then we said where we will REALLY go this afternoon:
Voy a Wigan, Voy a Skem, Voy a Aughton....

We sang our song: Este puente va a caer. (The bridge falls down, how will we cross the river? On a paperboat!:-)

In the second half of the lesson we had a real treat: Becky, a friend of ours came to talk about Sanfermines, the bull racing festival in Pamplona. She actually went there and ran with the bulls! She showed us lots of pictures and we asked her a hundred questions. She also told us about La Tomatina, another festival she went to last year.We are very lucky, thank you Becky for coming to give us a presentation!

The Spanish leader from last week got her reward, she did so well practising the words every day with the class. We picked the new leader for the 5 A DAY challenge.
